Manchester City boss Guardiola, previously coached greats like Messi, Andrés Iniesta, and Xavi, has declared that the French attacker is one of the most skillful players he has ever observed and is confident the forward will buy into the unselfish mentality at the Manchester outfit.

Comeback from Layoff

Cherki, who joined Manchester City from Ligue 1 in a £30.5m deal ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup in June, has featured in just seven outings to date. “He’s the type unfazed by stress in possession. He resembles a street footballer. He is grumpy – ‘pass it to me’ – when he’s overlooked, you know. He’s been here for a brief period with us; he needs a bit because you must build chemistry.”

When asked if the youngster will adapt with the collective spirit, the manager answered: “Absolutely. Players like him have great feel, incredibly bright. They notice all.”

Kudos for the Midfielder

Guardiola likewise highlighted the midfielder, who appears set to start in central midfield. Rodri has travelled to Villarreal, and should be celebrated pre-kickoff in Villarreal, but is unavailable because of a fitness issue.
